Adam Koehler

I'm a 28 year old guy raised in Bismarck, ND who sounds like a surfer, at least that's what my friends tell me. I enjoy traveling, playing sports, and learning guitar to list a few things. I'm a huge Papa John's fan and really like Caribou Coffee. I see life as an adventure, but the biggest passion in my life is my personal relationship with God. Everything else stems from that.

As a sophomore at Bismarck State College, I gave my life to God and He lit a fire in my heart. I really started wanting to know Him better and introduce others to Jesus Christ.

I graduated NDSU in 2003 with a degree in Management Information Systems, but instead of pursuing that field, I answered God's call to intern with Campus Crusade for a year and a half at NDSU. Working on college campuses with young adults who are the future of our world has become what I love. Now I am on staff long term. I am currently on staff in Ames, IA, as the director of CCC at Iowa State University.

Emily Wiersgalla

Senior Staff

Emily is from a small town in Wisconsin. She graduated from UW-Stout with a BFA in Interior Design. In college her life was changed and given direction by learning what it means to walk with the Lord.

She has worked with Campus Crusade for Christ since 2001 when she followed the Lord on a year long STINT(short term international internship) to Fortaleza Brazil. She has been at Iowa State since 2004.

She has a passion to help people begin a redemptive relationship with Christ and see their lives be used to bring others into a relationship with Him as well. Emily enjoys hanging out with friends, traveling, studying God's Word, and a morning mocha. And if you're looking for someone to eat out with, she'll rarely turn you down!

Kirk Johnson

Greek Ministry Director, Greater Iowa Local Leader

Born and raised on a farm in central Iowa. Came to know the Lord at age of 12. Went to college at ISU in the 70's (yes afros, bellbottoms and Vietnam...that was my generation) and graduated with a Forestry degree and a minor in Agronomy.

After graduation, I worked for a year before joining staff in 1975. Spent 5 years in Utah with CCC, followed by 3 years at the University of Minnesota where I met the love of my life, my wife Lou Ann. We were married in 1981 and two years later went to Japan where we were part of Japan CCC for 3 years.

After that we returned to the US and spent the next 10 years directing the work at the University of Iowa. In 1998 we shifted gears and started working with the catalytic lane of the campus ministry and just last year merged our efforts into the Greater Iowa staff team based in Ames.

We have 3 sons, Trevor, Seth and Luke and a wiener dog named Heidi and live in Clive. I love fishing, throwing Frisbee, ping pong, running, bird watching, spending time with my family and traveling. Hate watching the Clones lose again and again and again and again...:(

Lou Ann Johnson

Greater Iowa Local Leader

I grew up in California and went to college at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo and majored in Social Science. While a student God used CRU greatly in my life so I decided to join full time staff when I graduated in 1980 .

My first assignment was in Minnesota where I met my husband Kirk. We've worked at the University of Minnesota, universities in Tokyo, Japan for 3 years, University of Iowa, and campuses around the state of Iowa.

We have 3 sons, Trevor, Seth and Luke. I am neutral territory since so far 2 of them are Hawkeyes and Kirk is a Clone! I like meeting new people, traveling, shopping, having coffee with friends, and walking on the beach. I can't wait to meet you!
